Under Construction

This is a little place I decided to create to share the projects we do around the house. Because our last apartment was furnished, this apartment was a bit bare when we moved in about two and a half months ago. We are just beginning to get serious about fixing up our little apartment into a cozy little home. We recently acquired two beautiful couches, ordered a picture for the living room wall, and bought a sewing machine (my birthday gift!). We plan to re-do a nice set of old end tables and a desk (as soon as the weather permits) as well as some other project such as making curtains, table cloths, and bedding. Keep checking if you care to and I'll do my best to take lots of pictures of our works in progress.

SURPRISE!

Last weekend, Jon and I were in Massena. I hosted a surprise Bridal Shower for one of my good friends who is getting married in May. The Massena church has a lady’s meeting once every month. Different people host it and have different activities. We’ve had an evening meeting with snacks, a Saturday brunch, a cookie exchange, etc. We’ve also had a variety of topics. Mine was supporting one another. Everyone makes mistakes, and it’s nice to be reminded that you’re not a loser because something doesn’t go right or you struggle with something. There’s almost always someone you know who can empathize with what you’re going through. This is what I wanted to share with Tandy as she prepares to become a wife. We had a few little activities to help and encourage Tandy, lots of gifts (lots of goodies from such a small group!), and oh yeah, you bet we had food! Here are some pictures! Notice everything is pink. Tandy is using pink and silver for her wedding color scheme. Some of the gifts include...

Christmas in. . . March?

So I never posted any Christmas pictures, and I know some of you were waiting for them. Here are a few I scrounged up. I'll have to see what I can do about finding pix from the Montgomery Christmas. P.S. Some of the pictures will allow you to click on them to make them bigger and others won't, so you just have to try them I guess. Our humble little tree in our humble little apartment. The Catton tree (and gifts). Mom and the Infamous Dr. Brad Catton (yeah that's a common picture grin!) Dad and Grammie Catton. Nobody got left out! Brier investigating his can of goodies. (Daisy got some veggie treats.) We all got warm and fuzzy fleece jackets. (Left to right - Melissa, Me, Mom, Grammie) I like the change in facial expression between the first and second shot of the same pose. Brier enjoying the toy Jon and I got him. (The high pitched squeak wasn't too enjoyable for the rest of us, but. . . "And I'm spent!" Too much excitement for one day!
