Be-Lated Costume Party Pictures

Another project. . .

Added the Simplify sign a while back. I made it a loooooong time ago (ok, a few months) and didn't get it hung for a long time.

My New Toy!

So our freezer is looking pretty sad about now. But it isn't because we don't have food. . . It's because we now have a nice new chest freezer! I'm so excited you can't believe it - yes over a freezer! I can't wait to start making soup and meals like lasagna to freeze! We pretty well emptied our other freezer into this one and barely covered the bottom, so we still have plenty of room (not to mention the other empty freezer!). We got a super deal on this nearly $200 freezer! It was on a good sale AND Jon signed up for a store card and got another $25 off AND we used my credit card so we get points back for it even though we had cash to cover it.

HAPPY Harvest!

A little be-lated Halloween fun. . . You have to excuse the me part of this picture! It was the end of a long day - that's my only excuse!

Count Your Blessings. . . Three by three

Image
Last Sunday, our Sunday School teacher gave us paper to fold into a "Gratitude Journal" and challenged us to write at least three things in it each day. She said she didn't want the normal warm house, etc. She wanted the little things we take for granted like when someone does something nice for you (she used her husband making her oat meal that morning as an example). So, I'm giving it a try and thought maybe you would want to join me. You'd only have to make up a couple days if you start right away!

My Award Winning Husband

A couple weeks ago now, Jon was "awarded" with a dinner at Pizza Hut (well, we all got to share in that part), a plaque, and a really nice winter coat for work. The plaque and dinner were kind of just for the fun, but he really is a hard worker and he takes pride in being good at what he does. Since the business is so small, Jon carries a lot of weight. I, for one, feel very blessed for him to have a nice work jacket (he really hasn't for several years) on these bitter cold days, AND not to have to pay for it! The engraving place messed up. It's supposed to be "Express Plumbing & HEAT Service" NOT HEATING Service.

Halloween Weekend

Image
Halloween Weekend started for us on Friday night. Our church young adult group had a costume party. Saturday afternoon we headed to Plattsburgh for the third annual Catton pumpkin carving fest which always includes pizza, wings, dessert, and roasted pumpkin seeds. Here are just a few pictures. The first is a bell pepper I carved and filled with chip dip for Friday night. The others are pumpkins from Saturday. The first individual pumpkin picture is Jon's the second is mine (I thought it was cool how the candle made it look like there was a full moon behind the tree or something).
