Time Well Wasted. . .

Image
Hi, my name's Leah and I'm a time waster. (Fellow time wasters) Hi Leah. :-) Today is a slow day for me. No particular reason, just one of those days. I was awake at a good time this morning and trying to convince myself to get up and around, but alas. . . The covers were so warm and I reminded myself that soon I would be getting up every morning for work and wouldn't have this luxury, so there I stayed. I fell back asleep for a little while then finally drug myself out of bed with great intentions to get through the shower and do some reading before getting some stuff done around the house. I just needed to fix me some iced coffee to get me going - maybe some breakfast too (ha!). In the mean time my stomach decided it wasn't awake enough to consider food, so I sat on the couch for a few minutes, knitting a few rows on the scarf I've been working on and thinking. There were some things I needed to check/do on my computer (of course. Isn't there always?). And no...

Valentine's. . .

Sadly, no pictures to share. As usual, I had great intentions - even tucked my camera into my purse, but. . . didn't get any pictures. Valentine's weekend started for us Friday night. Our church had a nice banquet at Lobster House then we had friends over to watch a movie. Saturday morning, Jon had band practice at the church and I bummed around home sipping iced coffee with a friend til time to leave for our "Chic Flick" matinee. Saturday evening and Sunday were back to the normal bein' lazy around the house and going to church. So that's pretty well it for the excitement around here. I have to admit, I'm a bit of a Valentine's scrooge! I resent holidays that dictate how you're supposed to feel/act. I tend to be more random than that I guess. It just feels so much more meaningful and from the heart to get someone a nice gift or card when you WANT to show them how much they mean to you not when the calendar says you should. Anyway, with tha...

Project #6

Image
FINALLY got coat hooks! I bought the actual hook thing at work but it's heavy metal and with the added weight of coats and things hanging on it, it needed to be hung on studs. There is only the one stud there in the middle and two holes in the metal thing, so. . . The wooden paddle we had bought a while back from Michael's thinking we'd make a shelf or something for under the mirror. Last night we* stained it and were able to hang it by the two screws into the one stud and then mount the metal hook thing to the wooden paddle. It was quite the operation! Also we* got a wooden curtain rod project for the living room partly done, but I'll get/post pictures of that later. We tried to match the stain on the little paddle to that on the storage bench. I think we did a pretty good job with that, but now I'm not sure that the mirror fits. I guess if I can't handle it, I can always paint the mirror or if nothing else get a different one. This one was most likely a pre...
