Just wanted to share this picture with you. Uncle Dave hadn't even had Turkey dinner yet, and he was already passed out on the couch. It looked like he was reading the fine print or something, but nope... he was snoozin'. What a guy!

School #9 - Continued

Just had to post the teacher's comment for my final assignment. . . This was the comment she left with my perfect grade for the assignment: "Excellent work with your design! Your adjustments made the work look awesome. I am sure you are excited about your work. You should frame it. : )" This was the comment she posted right on the assignment where everyone could see it: "Leah,I love the idea of the 3 crosses with the abstraction of the tomb on the bottom. Excellent work. You really did a great job making all elements contribute to the great meaning of your story, but you still kept the design to be visually pleasing and intriguing!I am also pleased with your outcome! Thanks for exploring again to make the work look awesome! Marilyn" I love that some people already know and I can just remind them of the story!

School #9

This evening I am completing and submitting my final project and artists statement for this class. It was an OK class, but I can't say I'll miss it much - maybe when I start my next class because drafting is next! Anyway, I had to do four thumbnails of design ideas then my classmates commented on which one they liked the best. A couple of them liked a different design, but the first response I got was kind of what I wanted to hear and I had the next assignment done before I got the others, so. . . Anyway, all that to say here is my final project. My classmate said it moved her - almost to tears and my teacher said it was a personal favorite (not publicly). I love being able to incorporate little things like this in my classes. I try not to be "in your face" about it, but little things like this kind of make their own point and bring up questions that I am all too happy to answer!

Dumb Exhaust

Leah and I finally made a decision on a vehicle. It has been extremely stressful these past couple of weeks, and there has been much prayer, much sadness, much trouble but there has been much Grace. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. ~Hebrews 4:16~ We took two big steps in the opposite direction of what we had intended to have for a vehicle. It was so hard, but we prayed so much. We were concerned about making payments again and for an extended amount of time. We finally decided on this 1995 Honda Civic. I have a friend who has had the same car, only a sedan. Same year, same model everything except for the number of doors. He said it has been an excellent car and has never failed him. The ratings were tremendous and it will do anywhere from 38 - 41 mpg. So we got it. It's going to save us some bucks over the long haul and was much cheaper than the alternative. Let's get to the title though. Wh...

Tree Ornaments

Image
Just wanted to post a couple of pictures of our tree. We were wondering if you could find the ornament that didn't belong? Or at least the one that didn't want to stay on the tree. If you can't find it in the first picture, we took a close up in the second so you would know. Have fun!

Final Verdict.

So for those of you who have been waiting and wondering, we got a call from our insurance yesterday evening to inform us that our car IS indeed considered a "total loss". Since the day of the accident, our bosses have been kind enough to let us drive their third car (a total gas guzzler!), but now we are faced with car shopping all over again. Between our car and gap insurances, we will still only have to pay our insurance deductible, so we are fortunate to not be stuck with a loan on a car we don't own anymore. We (or Jon, I'll be working) are supposed to go collect our plates and sign the title over to the insurance tomorrow. They (insurance) would like us to find a replacement within thirty days to keep things a little more simple AND to keep our rates down. We're really not looking forward to this whole shopping thing so soon after our last purchase, but we've been praying that God would just find one for us (I think Jon even asked for front door deli...
