Finished By Friday

Hello Everybody! We are officially home from camp! It was a good camp and we hated for it to be over, but. . . It was nice to get home last night. Here are just a few pictures for you. There was a bonfire and smores Friday night after service! 40 Years for Uncle Dave & Aunt Gladys Hatch! WOW! A Sunday afternoon surprise! Wedding cake, red roses, a card and money to help with a couple nice meals on their anniversary trip. I heard someone say "They've had lots of practice!" And our friend Tom and his wife Shirley have been married a little over 50 years! And us. Almost 1 whole year!! I have finally begun work on throw pillows for our two living room couches . I finished sewing one of them, but wanted to wait until I get stuffing to see how it looks before I do the rest. So far I am pretty happy with the outcome. Here are a couple pictures of the one that I have done without stuffing. It's laying over the current pillow (the one that doesn't match the couches at all!). Sorry the second one is blurry. The necessary shutter speed was reeeeally hard to get a clear picture with! So, there really aren't a lot of exciting things happening right now and I don't have any new pictures for you, but I thought I'd just say hi and let everyone know that I'm still alive and kickin '. I LOVE the summer, but it always amazes me how crazy it gets! You'd think I'd be used to it by now, but. . . The weeks are full of work during the day and little household projects (laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning, organizing. . .) in the evenings. The weekends are just as crazy with bridal showers, weddings, family, and friends (oh wait who am I kidding. Yeah, we're a little low on friends locally, therefore any friend things mean more planning and travel!). I found myself in front of the calendar the other day with my work schedule in one hand and an ink pen in the other. I marked all the upcoming events, then looked things over to see what free time we had. Yikes! So far I've come up with two free weekends at the end of August, and we're workin...

These are some pictures that I took the other Sunday. If you would like see any of these larger than they are, just click on them. Anyway, the first picture was in very clear daylight. I adjusted my shutter speed to allow minimal light in, to achieve the darkness look. When the picture is blown up, it looks really neat. (In my humble opinion). The second picture was not edited or anything. It was the way the shadows were on the flowers as the sun was going down over the roof. I really like it also. The last one I adjusted the aperture to get the flowers in the front blurry. If there were more flowers behind the one I was focused on, they would be blurry also. This one took the longest to get right. I enjoy all of them, and I hope you do also. Feel free to copy and set as a desk top wallpaper or something.

Leah and I were very excited to get a boat. We just wanted to share a picture with you of our boat. It's a paddle boat. The real reason that we wanted to put it on our blog was so everyone could see it tied down to the top of our car. Anyway, we've been out on it a few times, and my dad and I went out on it once. Anyway, here's a picture of it.

So I just wanted to put some pictures out there from our good times down at St. Lawerence. This was the day before my big Bro was to get married. Anyway, these pictures were taken on our new Nikon D300 Camera (Note: Does not me the operator is a pro yet!). Hope you enjoy. This is Brad with some of his Buddies from St. Lawerence. I tried to post this sooner after we had done it, but blogger was having issues uploading my photos. Hopefully it works this time! K it didn't work that time, but it did this time. I think it doesn't like the size of my pictures. This is probably at least the fifth time I have tried to post these! So here it is - our second photo shoot. We only did three rooms in this house because they aren't finished with the whole house yet, but it took us about as long because there was a lot of fine detail they wanted highlighted. I personally really like this house. From the outside it looks very Swiss with the pointy roof and white and brown mix. The inside is a bazaar yet attractive mixture of busy personality (bright colors, busy trim work, etc.), Adirondack (white birch/wood), and old world (leather, maps, etc.). You can just about see the guys sitting there with their cigars and Cherie. It's great! The lighting leaves a LOT to be desired though! One fireplace in the "...
