Wedding Season Continues

So I realize I am quite a bit behind on my blogging (work has kept me quite busy for the last couple weeks!), but I'm finally back - that's the important part right?
Saturday, June 14, the Bloomingdale church ladies hosted a Bridal Shower for Melissa (Jon's soon-to-be sister-in-law). Here are some pictures of the fun that day. Maybe Jon will post pictures from the "guy thing" later.

The gifts (and food)
Most of us went together to buy a 12 pc. pots and pans set, a wok, a large stock pot, some kitchen utensils, and a heap of gardening things (Brad and Melissa just bought a house and as a teacher, Melissa will have all summer off to figure out how to use all this stuff!)

Sorry Mel! I really like this one, and we both know it could be worse! :-)

He was particularly worried that they get the wok, so we wrapped it back up for him to open himself.

Thanks for the pictures of the shower and our fun day. What a nice way to keep people updated. I'm thrilled they were both so surprised. We all came together and made them both very happy. Thanks to all who took part! Soon to be another Mr & Mrs!

Yeah I know I have been very busy with work lately! We have pix to be posted from Brad and Mel's wedding and Jon got a few pix on the fourth. We went to his cousin's house. They grilled and we made home made ice cream!

OK, I got this magazine in the mail a couple days ago, but just took the time to actually see what it was last night. They advertise "making luxury affordable" - which of course means that they still charge you outrageous prices, they just let you pay it in smaller installments. This, to me, is more trouble than it's worth anyway even if you don't think about the fact that they (like everyone else in America) are encouraging you to spend more money than you have. The thing that really caught my attention, however, was not the flat screen TVs and computers and living room furniture and mattresses and jewelry. . . Like I said, I looked at this thing last night. It wasn't until I picked it up to throw it away a few minutes ago though, that I realized some of the things I had seen listed! Anniversary Dinner

It's kind of hard to really celebrate a special occasion when it takes place early in the week. Jon worked today, and I did homework all day, but we DID manage to get out for a nice dinner this evening. After thinking all day and trying to come up with someplace good and unusual, yet not TOO expensive, Jon and I finally decided on Mama Lucia's in Potsdam. Jon had been before, but it was my first time. Just think Olive Garden. . . The atmosphere was amazing and the food was great!! It's an old train station which is absolutely beautiful inside and it has a nice patio area outside (which is where we ate and just barely missed a HUGE thunder storm). Here are just a few pictures. I brought my camera and then left it in the car. I realized before we walked away from the car, but was just going to forget it because I get tired or fussing with Jon to let us get pictures.
