Finished By Friday

So, two things. First, I'M DONE!!!! Finally at 12:35 Saturday night/Sunday Morning I finished all requirements for school, so I should be expecting my diploma in the mail sometime in the next little while. Second, Mostly for Rach and the other girls and family members who didn't get to be here, I have some pictures. Jon and I went to see the program that Mama was in charge of at their church tonight. She and the kids did a great job! I'll probably be posting a few more pictures later, but here are some of my prize pictures from after. I was a little emotional over this one. Partly because Becky wrote the song she was singing and partly because a few weeks ago, Joy was laying in a hospital ICU with holes in her lung and not able to talk. Tonight she sang a beautiful solo!

So here's part of what I've been up to in my Kitchen and Bath class. I pulled an all night-er last night finishing the assignment that I spent all afternoon and evening yesterday working on and I didn't even start from scratch. It was just making revisions!! I seriously went to bed when Jon was getting ready to leave for work this morning and slept for a little over 3 hours, so I've been running slow today, but the homework must go on! :-) Saturday's it for me!!

I'm sure you all know the story of the little engine who could. . . Well here goes round two. I started writing this "jolly" post last week and then realized my math was bad so I didn't feel so jolly after that! :-) Today marks day 1 of week 5 out of 5 1/2 for me with these final two classes. That's right people just 1 1/2 half weeks to go!! I think I have almost all my paperwork in order and everything, so if I survive the next 10 days I will actually get a diploma and the whole nine yards when I get done! So, there it is. While I wondered many times if I could make it a few more weeks, I have made it this far and I DO think I can make it for just a few more days! Below are just a few examples of the things I've been doing.

I reworked the flowers and even though they are still really cheap, I think they look somewhat fuller and better.

It's official! I have finally started decorating for Christmas! I know I'm a bit behind, but that's the way it is this year. I've barely started my shopping either! Bud and me are gonna be shopping together this year! No, I have most stuff picked out and even set aside at work, but just haven't bought or wrapped it. I have picked up a few things here and there and some stocking stuffers. I'm not even stressing about Jon's family this year! They sent lists and I'm kind of leaving that up to him. Anyway, all that to say I wanted to share a couple pictures of my center piece (more like center arrangement) on my table and see what you think. This is not one of my strong areas of design for sure, so any tips or advice would be good. The flowers are only temporary because they are extremely cheap I think they're some Mable gave me a couple years ago. I plan to get either a live poinsettia or Big Lots has cute little real holly plants - maybe mix the two?? ...

So here's my rant for the day: The last few days I have been listening to the one radio station I have found actually playing all Christmas music this year. Over and over again I have marvelled at the fact that for the month of Dec. it is all of a sudden perfectly acceptable to play things like "Joy to the world the Lord is come" and "a newborn King to see ba-rum-pa-pum-pum" and "Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation? Mary did you know that our baby boy would one day rule the nations? Did you know that your baby boy was Heaven's perfect Lamb? The sleeping Child you're holding is the Great, I Am." and "Long time ago in Bethlehem so the Holy Bible say, Mary's boy child Jesus Christ was born on Christmas day. Hark now hear the angels sing a new King born today and man will live forever more because of Christmas day." I was telling Jon the other day that I love Christmas music on the radio for this reason.
